The department was established in September, 2016, on the base of Control Systems and Electric Drive department. Teaching stuff consists of 16 highly-motivated persons, among them 2 Doctors of Science, Full Professors, 7 Doctors of Philosophy, Associate Professors, 1 Doctor of Philosophy, Senior Lecturers, 3 Senior Lecturers, 3 Assistant Professors.
A special feature of our graduates’ training is the in-depth study of the most advanced high-tech branches of science and technology: information technology; microprocessor technology and electronics; systems and networks of data transmission and telecommunications; computerized control and automation systems.
The head of the department is Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Staroshin Sergey Stanislavovich, has scientific and practical interests in digital regulation in automation systems, taking into account the discrete properties of control processes. Under his guidance and with direct participation, developments are being made on the automatic adjustment of control systems on the basis of intelligent technologies, the research of mechatronic systems based on the latest actuators is carried out, the principles of regulation for robotic devices with closed kinematics are developed.
The Department of Automation and Computer Integrated Technologies carries out the licensing of educational activities in the direction 151 “Automation and computer-integrated technologies” in order to provide enterprises of various industries, institutions and organizations of Kremenchug and the region with highly skilled specialists in information systems and technologies , as well as specialists in the field of automation of production systems and processes. The training of specialists is carried out in two stages: the first one – the student receives a bachelor’s degree on basic higher education; on the second – the bachelors are given the opportunity to extend their studies according to the master’s degree program of a professional and master’s degree.
The organization of the educational process for the contingent of students with the licensed volume of reception of 35 persons is planned. For this, the teaching staff of the department develops working curricula and full methodological support for all courses of fundamental and professional training of bachelors.
The department is active in research and organizational and methodological work related to the creation of a new and modernization of the existing laboratory base, the creation of scientific profile collectives, the organization of student science. Every fifth student of senior courses participates in research work under the guidance of leading faculty members of the department. Students of the department take part in all-Ukrainian and international conferences and olympiads. The chair of the AKIT is equipped with modern equipment. Each student has the opportunity to work independently at a certain time in laboratories and computer classes of the department on personal computers. For the preparation of students, the department is equipped with 3 computer classes, 6 specialized laboratories, a diploma and course design department, and has its own library and patent funds . In the methodical office more than 200 copies of methodical publications developed by the teachers of the department that are used in the educational process are stored. Electronic versions of these editions are available to students in the Web-library. The department actively conducts research work with graduate students, seminars and conferences for young scientists are held.
The demand of the region’s enterprises in highly qualified specialists is confirmed by the orders of the following companies: OJSC Poltavsky GOK, JSC Kremenchug Steel Works, CJSC STC “Information Systems”, Holding Company “AvtoKrAZ”, OJSC “Kryukiv Carriage Works”, OJSC “Semiconductor Plant”, OJSC “Kremenchug Plant of Technical Carbon”, OJSC “Ukrtatnafta” and others.
The perspective plan of the department development involves participation of the staff of the department in conducting international scientific conferences, including conferences held in the far abroad, according to the schedule of their conducting.
